🌱 About Greenleaf Garden Center

Greenleaf Garden Center is a popular seller of plants and gardening products in Greece. Founded in 2002, Greenleaf started as a small greenery shop for the locals who enjoy nature. Over the years, Greenleaf has cultivated strong partnerships with the best Greek producers and international suppliers, creating a fertile ground for flourishing expansion into many other European countries.

Greenleaf views its plants as a joyful aspect of daily life rather than mere decorations. Driven by its love for fresh greenery, Greenleaf carefully hand-picks long-lasting, aesthetic plants that serve for years and make their owners smile with every look. The company is dedicated to providing only top-notch products that fully bring the lush beauty of nature into people’s homes.

🎯 Greenleaf’s challenges

Seeking to grow its reach in its home country, Greenleaf decided to sell its products on Skroutz, Greece’s most popular online shopping platform.

Like other similar e-commerce sites, Skroutz required merchants to upload their items using XML product feeds. But with such a massive catalog, Greenleaf knew that creating a product feed for Skroutz manually would be lengthy, tiring, and highly inefficient.

Greenleaf needed a tool that would both quickly generate valid Skroutz feeds and give an easy way to manage them.

Greenleaf tested several product feed apps, but none could properly export its complex product structure according to Skroutz’s sophisticated requirements. The feeds didn’t fully pass Skroutz’s quality control, and only a tiny fraction of Greenleaf’s products correctly appeared on the marketplace.

The complexity of Skroutz product feeds heavily frustrated Greenleaf, making its onboarding unnecessarily difficult. And that’s when Mulwi came to Greenleaf’s rescue.

💡 Mulwi’s solution for Greenleaf

Along with the Mulwi Shopping Feeds app, Greenleaf also got a pre-made, freely customizable product feed template for Skroutz, which was exactly what the company was looking for. Wasting no time, Greenleaf immediately reached out to the app’s support for expert assistance with personalizing this template.

Mulwi’s team quickly connected with Greenleaf to get a clear picture of its goals and past difficulties with Skroutz feeds. Greenleaf then received several custom solutions that shaped a perfect-fit Skroutz product feed for its catalog, meeting all its needs and beyond.

Custom product variant export logic

Greenleaf had numerous products with several variants in size and color, and exporting these as Skroutz wanted was the company’s biggest struggle. Skroutz required every variant of products in the non-fashion categories to be presented as a separate XML entry.

The life-saving solution to this challenge was the flexible feed template customizer from Mulwi. The app’s team showed Greenleaf how to edit the default Skroutz feed template and helped create a Skroutz-compliant structure tailored to its complex catalog.

Greenleaf’s custom multi-level Skroutz feed from Mulwi worked with both product and product variant data simultaneously. This let Greenleaf easily export all product information in a way that Skroutz could understand, without losing the connections between products and their variants.

Auto-filtering of sales-ready items

Many of Greenleaf’s 4K+ product variants weren’t prepared or intended to be sold on Skroutz. Naturally, Greenleaf needed a fast method to filter out unsuitable items, so that its Skroutz product feeds always had correct listings without any manual curation on its part.

This intimidating task turned out to be a breeze with Mulwi’s product filters tool. Thanks to the app’s simple interface, Greenleaf managed to build 4 unique product filters on its own, which sorted items based on their other attributes, such as tags and stock level.

Once applied to Greenleaf’s Skroutz feed, these filters instantly processed Greenleaf’s whole catalog and included only the items ready for Skroutz. With this one-time setup, Greenleaf fully automated product filtering and saved itself the trouble of adding the right items in the feed by hand.

Tailoring product data for Skroutz

Greenleaf needed to adjust the values of 6 important product attributes specifically for Skroutz, including the title, category, and price. But changing the information in the store was out of the question, as Greenleaf wanted to have the modified product data only on Skroutz.

Mulwi’s versatile dynamic expressions tool was perfect for this case. The app’s team helped Greenleaf develop 6 custom expressions, each of which automatically transformed the necessary attribute value exactly as Greenleaf required while correctly formatting it for Skroutz.

After applying these expressions to its Skroutz feed, Greenleaf successfully exported the edited product values to Skroutz and showed the intended product details to the marketplace’s users, without ever altering the store’s original products.

🏆 Results

When it submitted the Mulwi product feed to Skroutz, Greenleaf successfully passed all stages of Skroutz’s feed quality control and was all set to start selling on the marketplace right away.

Greenleaf flawlessly uploaded to Skroutz all its customized, sales-ready 1K+ items in one go. Greenleaf’s plants and other goods appeared on Skroutz in full detail while maintaining the correct relationships between parent products and their variants.

Mulwi’s feed also automatically took into account products that were already in Greenleaf’s Skroutz Merchant Center. The feed correctly updated existing items and added the new ones, ensuring that Greenleaf had its entire catalog featured on Skroutz without any duplication.

Greenleaf then further simplified updates by linking its product feed to Skroutz via URL. With this connection in place, Greenleaf was fully confident that its Skroutz listings would constantly be accurate, as Skroutz automatically retrieved the latest feed hourly, while Mulwi generated a fresh file on demand.

Greenleaf was so impressed by its experience with the Mulwi app that it left a glowing review on the Shopify App Store. Greenleaf shared its fascination with the speed and effectiveness of Mulwi’s support team, praising them for creating the best Skroutz product feed for its store.

After many failed attempts with other product feed apps, Greenleaf was delighted to finally find the only one that made the XML product feed for Skroutz just right and solved all its issues.

Greenleaf Garden Center

This is by far the best application for creating xml for Skroutz. This is the only app that can create the xml exactly as Skroutz wants it. Especially if you have products with variants that doesn’t belong to fashion category. For all these products Skroutz wants each variant product to appear as a single product.
All the previous application we tried couldn’t fix this problem and products with variants (size, color etc.), wasn’t able to pass Skroutz control and couldn’t appear on their marketplace.
Ivanna was not only fast and very polite but with 2-3 modifications to the xml, has created the best possible xml for Skroutz, overcoming all the issues that Skroutz is creating to make our lives difficult.
5 stars for sure!
